THE LIVES OF GREAT NATIONS

An Introduction

I recommend that prospective readers of these articles first spend time reviewing The Lives of Great People in order to see how each great individual has an eightfold personality related to the eight basic fields of living. The same principles hold true for any great nation. It too should be viewed as having an eightfold personality interacting within eight fields of living. This does not mean that each individual within the nation has the same configurations as the nation as a whole -- that would be an absurd assumption. However, to the extent that a citizen acts as part of a group consciousness or awareness, as part of a national identity, to that extent he is under the influence of a group personality. This idea may seem strange at first, especially for those who have not been exposed to esoteric ideas based upon the relationship of macrocosm to microcosm, but hopefully, the descriptions I give of each great nation will serve as proof of my thesis.

Due to the expansion of both the mental and physical boundaries within today's world, I take the position that there is no nation on earth which cannot have a significant impact on world affairs, and therefore, which cannot potentially meet the standard of being a great nation. Any unruly or inspired child in the family of nations can increasingly influence world events and therefore I must analyze the personalities of virtually every country on earth. This is a more difficult task than analyzing the lives of great people, because of the challenge of accurately assessing the actual date and time a nation is born, reborn, revised, or a combination of same.

England, for example, has gone through many changes of power in her long history. Which change, or series of changes, determines the course of events in England today? With some nations the exact date of birth is reasonably certain. This is true in the case of Israel. The same can be said for the birth of the Palestinian quest for self-rule. However, these cases are the exception rather than the rule.

The birth date of a nation is merely one factor which needs to be considered when making predictions. The prior geo-political history of the population is also an important yet elusive factor.

Consequently, the discussion of national personalities is much more subjective than in the case of individuals; nevertheless, through the principles of The Art of Multi-Dimensional Living® and its applied technologies, it is possible to make significant, valuable and even priceless commentaries about the various nations of the world. I have avoided such commentaries for a long time largely because I know that they will be quite controversial and, in some cases, highly offensive, but I can no longer justify withholding this precious knowledge from the world. We live in a time of terrible crisis and we need the type of analysis which The Art of Multi-Dimensional Living® can provide us if we are to avert the dangers looming all around us -- overpopulation, nuclear holocaust, pollution, climatic changes, religious strife and warfare and a growing materialism which is strangling our moral and spiritual development.

No nation exists in a vacuum; it is part of a world community. This community also has a personality of its own at any particular time in world history and I will be describing this world personality throughout these articles. Every nation also has a religious, social and cultural heritage which profoundly affects it. This heritage must be taken into consideration when interpreting the present life of any nation. Thus, the complexity of this domain of knowledge is quite apparent. Of all the interrelated factors, the most influential is the personality of the present world community. An outline of its make-up in each of the eight fields of living follows:

Spiritual Nature: governed by a strong Saturn;
Dharma or Caste Nature: Vaishya or Business Caste (Mercury);
Physical Health: governed by the Sun;
Mental Health: governed by Venus;
The Field of Wealth: governed by the Moon;
Interpersonal Relationships: governed by the Nodes of the Moon;
Career: governed by Jupiter;
Creative Play: governed by Mars.
