The official newspaper obituary:

In Memorium of Edward Tarabilda, 1940 - 1999

Our dear friend, Edward Tarabilda, gifted spiritual teacher, author and holistic counselor, passed away on Sunday, January 10, as a result of a heart attack while playing tennis at the MUM recreation center.

Edward was respected and loved as a man of principle, achievement, honor, and deep compassion. Edward grew up in the Chicago area and practiced law in Springfield, Illinois. He started Transcendental Meditation in 1973, and later moved to Fairfield, where he taught law and government at MIU, and served as Vice President of Administration and community liason officer. In the mid 80s, he developed the foundations of a comprehensive view of all knowledge which he later called "The Art of Multi-Dimensional Living"®. In the last twelve years Ed wrote extensively and counseled others using this knowledge. Two of his books, Ayurveda Revolutionized and The Global Oracle: A Spiritual Blueprint, are still available. He also founded a non-profit organization, the New U. <www.newu.org>.

Ed was uncompromising in his quest for truth. He was a sincere and caring person who always did what he thought would be the very best for humankind. Edward is survived by two brothers and by his deep love of the last four years, Bernadette Cardinale. All are welcome to a memorial service that will be held on Sunday, January 17 at 3 p.m. at St. Gabriel and All Angels Church, 300 E. Burlington.

Other personal comments:

It is with the deepest sadness that we must inform you of Edward's passing. He suffered a heart attack Sunday January 10th. We will dearly miss him and we send him our unbounded joy, our unlimited love.

Edward was one of those rare souls who walked a path far ahead of his own time. His brilliant insight into the reality of spiritual science awaits discovery by future generations.

I'd like to share a few words from Osho. Osho confirmed Edward's unique gift through correspondence and predicted the coming of a time where humanity will benefit from a multidimensional perspective.

…I am fulfilled and absolutely contented; I have arrived home. But I see you are stumbling, groping, and it will be very heartless and uncompassionate for me to leave you in this situation. I would like in all your lives a sunrise, the birds singing and the flowers opening. Other than that, I don't have any reason to be here at all.

Remember it: I am here for you.

That remembrance will help you not to go astray. That remembrance will help you to be aware of the uncivilized world in which we are living, in this madhouse that we call humanity. It will go on reminding you that we have to give birth to a new man and to a new humanity.

This is the tremendous challenge. Those who have guts and intelligence and a desire and a longing to touch the farthest stars... only those very few people have been able to understand me, have been able to become my fellow travelers. I don't have any followers -- I have only lovers and friends and fellow travelers.

I would like you all to reach to the same beatitude, to the same blissfulness, to the same ecstasy that has become my very heartbeat. It is also the heartbeat of the whole universe. Copyright © Osho International Foundation www.osho.org

I think Edward would have wanted any donations to be made care of Bernadette to "The NewU", the non-profit organization he founded to support his work.
