WHAT’S NEW FOR JANUARY 1999:
Happy New Year everyone!
First, we are happy to announce that Edward’s extensive, twenty-two- lesson, audiotape course entitled Linking Ancient Inner Traditions With Modern Esoteric Christianity is being transcribed and edited and will be offered chapter by chapter, on this web-site. The first chapter is now available and a new chapter will be added each month. Those who took this course in the early ninties still rave about it stating that it was one of the best courses they had ever participated in. Now you will have the same opportunity through this web-site.
In the Lives of Great People series recent key aspects in the life of Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the famous basketball player, are examined.
In Miscellaneous Knowledge Updates there are five new articles: Spiritual Abuses, The Guru-Disciple Relationship: an Eightfold Perspective, The Ancient Ayurveda Expanded, The Strange Case of Andrew Cohen II, and additional commentary on The Disease of Cancer and why it is so prevalent in our world.
Edward has added two new chapters (16 & 17) to the link entitled A Thousand Aphorisms on Mystical Realization.
There are two new articles in the Letters section: Spiritual Teachers and Caste Nature and The Jyotish Conference and Tolerance
In the section The Decline and Fall of the Veda Edward has written a most interesting article on the relationship of the Old Law and the New Law and how the decline of the Veda affected the growth of Christianity. In the article Spiritual Science and the so-called Jyotish Edward exposes the ineffectiveness of traditional astrology.
Finally, in the Autobiographical section there is an article, Opposition Versus Hostility, in which Edward differentiates objective criticism from the type based in egoism.
WHAT'S NEW FOR DECEMBER OF 1998:
Edward has added a number of new articles to the Miscellaneous Knowledge Updates, A Tribute to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, The Ethics of Assisted Suicide, The Impeachment Inquiry, The Free Will Issue, and Issues Regarding the Responsibilities of a Guru.
In The Lives of Great People section Edward has analyzed the life of Sam Sheppard, a physician wrongly accused and punished for killing his wife.
Finally, in A Thousand Aphorisms on Mystical Realization Edward has added a Chapter Fifteen, which addresses Buddha's ten, unanswered, metaphysical questions.
WHAT'S NEW FOR NOVEMBER OF 1998
Edward has been adding new chapters to the link entitled A Thousand Aphorisms on Mystical Realization that indicate how multidimensional perspectives even encompass the third step of the spiritual ladder: the path of Wisdom. In other words, a sage's predominant aspect of personality even effects how (s)he describes, or points in the direction of, Ultimate Reality. According to Edward, the Goal may be one, but descriptions of it, if carefully scrutinized, are hardly ever so.
Please note in the Knowledge Updates link Edward's new article entitled "Ancient Systems of Philosophy". It not only expands our understanding of the relationships between the various ancient systems of philosophy, but also presents a controversial thesis that may upset many orthodox Vedic, Jain and Carvaka scholars. The thesis is that Buddhism represents the Integral Philosophy that integrates all the other ancient systems of philosophy.
Edward also has a new article on Gangaji and the "Advaita 'Shuffle'" which I think you will find quite interesting. See the Miscellaneous Knowledge Updates link.
Under the Letters link are a couple of new entries regarding The Ancient Ayurveda including a thought provoking discussion about the meridians and how the different disease tendencies manifest. Publications describes Edward's new book Ayurveda Revolutionized: Integrating the Ancient and Modern Ayurveda as well as other books.
